Who We Are
We are the local chapter of Optimists International.
We formed our local organization in 2017 to support an unrepresented area in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With a few creative minds from the Sussex Hamilton School District the organization quickly came to represent Sussex, Lisbon, Lannon, and Butler in the Optimist organization.
In 1911, soon after the very first Optimist Club was formed in Buffalo, New York, an Optimist movement took place and Optimist Clubs were forming throughout the United States and Canada. Optimist International was formed in 1919, as the organization that connects all Optimist Cubs Internationally. All Optimist Clubs have the opportunity to compete in 1 of 3 International Scholarship contests: the Oratorial, the Essay and the Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Additionally, there is Tri-Star Sports. This is an optional activity Clubs can sponsor that focuses on three skills competitions in each of the following sports: baseball, baseball, soccer, football, hockey, golf, curling and volleyball.

Proud to be spending my 30th in the Optimist organization as a member of the SLLB Club. Belonging to the West Bend club for 27 years and now 3 with SLLB. A great new club that is doing great things for our children and youth.

Our family has a proud history of giving back to Milwaukee Area communities. It has been an honor to help build this organization from the ground up for such an important purpose in helping kids, not only here in Wisconsin, but all around the world.
